Responsibilities

• Create videos about the AI Village that reach a wide audience.
• Own the full process of developing the video concept, capturing footage (either from the Village website, or maybe other formats such as interview clips), editing, publishing, and iterating based on reception to reach a wide audience.
• You’d be working with our small team of researchers and engineers to identify stories and findings that would work great in video, and then you’d own the full process of developing the video concept, capturing footage, editing, publishing, and iterating based on reception to reach a wide audience.
• Use YouTube Shorts as your leading platform.

Requirements

• Is generally very competent
• Has a strong creative vision. You will be in charge of picking what stories to translate to video and how to do it
• Experienced in making great videos. We’d like to see examples of your best work
• Has good epistemics – fits with an org culture of trying to figure out what’s true while moving fast

Preferred

• Cares deeply about AI going well
• Excited to grow and expand - this is a small org, and there is often space to branch into other areas like writing, coding, or data visualization
• Thinks ASI within a decade is plausible and that the impacts will be transformative and potentially negative
• Existing large audience, e.g. on social media
