Responsibilities

• The Marketing Coordinator develops and implements communication, public relations, and marketing strategies to promote recreational and cultural programs.
• Conceptualizes marketing plans, manages website and social media content, and designs print and digital materials; represents the department at events and coordinates sponsorships and budget for marketing activities.
• Collaborates to update annual marketing plans to reach multiple audiences served by the department.
• Maintains the department’s online presence, monitors social channels for consistency, and advises staff on best social media use.
• Designs promotional materials, ensures brand consistency, and reviews materials for department standards.
• Prepares reports and assists with budget; tracks expenses and budget allocations.
• Works on special projects such as new campaigns, programs, and accreditation; provides support to staff as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with major in Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Recreation Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license in North Carolina.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• CPR/First Aid certification or able to obtain within 6 months; training provided if needed.
• Three or more years of experience in planning, marketing, promotions, graphic design, website management, sponsorships, and ads for events and recreation is strongly preferred.
