Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Marketing strategy & brand - Own the marketing function and set strategy. Own brand identity, positioning, messaging, and the customer and audience avatars. Lead rebranding when needed.
  • Demand generation & email marketing - Generate qualified pipeline into Kanso's ideal-client base across a long sales cycle — acquire, nurture, convert. Run the full demand engine: organic discovery, content, email and long-cycle nurture, targeted outbound/ABM, retargeting, and the community/conference channels that warm a relationship-driven market. Build and run outreach lists and cadences. Track all marketing attribution to actual deals and report it.
  • Website, SEO & GEO - Own the Kanso website end to end — content, structure, conversion paths, and performance. Own organic discovery: technical and on-page SEO, plus generative-engine optimization (GEO) so Kanso is surfaced and cited by AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and similar). Treat GEO as a first-class, evolving channel, not an afterthought.
  • Content & creative - Direct the production of written and video case studies, educational and compliance content for the affordable housing sector, training content, templates, member resources, and personalized prospect landing pages.
  • Competitive intelligence - Gather and synthesize competitor intelligence and translate it into positioning and product direction.
  • Conference & tradeshow operations - Own Kanso's presence at 13+ industry conferences per year, end to end: show calendar, budgets, expense reporting, travel, booth strategy and production, merchandise, shipping, supplies, on-site staffing, lead capture, exhibitor coordination, and lead handoff to sales.
  • Reference client & case study program - Run the program end to end: identify and secure reference clients, run the structured interview process, project-manage clients through the experience, and produce written and video case studies that give sales credible proof points.
  • Sales alignment & revenue contribution - Source and hand off warm leads with context. Make partner and referral introductions. Partner closely with sales. Report marketing-influenced pipeline and revenue on a consistent cadence.
  • Online community management (Housing Heroes Hub) - Own Housing Heroes Hub as a monetized online membership community. Build and run the member-acquisition plan. Develop relationships with members and leaders across the sector. Maintain the community's tone and strategic alignment. Oversee the community platform.
  • Programs & content creation - Run the content engine and library. Design, price, launch, and deliver certification and education programs, and articulate their ROI and value.
  • Brand & social presence - Oversee organic and paid social media and maintain brand consistency across assets and digital presence.
  • Reporting - Deliver marketing updates and report on goals on a regular cadence. Keep leadership informed. Manage budget and expenses. Maintain documentation.
