Responsibilities

• to shape how the cooperative communicates with its members, employees, community partners, media and the public.
• representing the cooperative in the public arena while also orchestrating our communications campaigns with regards to Owen Electric’s website, social media platforms, publications, and internal communications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing or related field required. An associate degree with appropriate experience may be substituted.
• Prior experience in advertising, public relations, and communications work preferred.
• Six months on-the-job training may be necessary before employee can perform satisfactory with minimum supervision.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have a pleasant telephone presence.
• Must be able to quickly assist both members and co-workers; must work well under pressure.
• Must possess a creative and dynamic ability to compose effective advertising programs and the content to support such programs.
• Computer and desktop software publishing skills are required.
• Web publishing skills are preferred.
• Effective managerial and organizational skills are required to manage the overall marketing and advertising program.
• Must have a working knowledge of the electric utility industry in general.
