  • Collaborate with product, research, and marketing to drive strategic creativity

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on creative development from concept through delivery across brand systems, campaigns, and digital/physical channel executions — actively contributing to the work, not just directing it.
  • Develop and maintain brand identity and system guidelines that scale across multiple global touchpoints.
  • Direct, manage, and mentor a team of internal designers, writers, creative contractors, and external agencies while remaining a hands-on contributor to the work.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research, and marketing teams to translate strategy and consumer insights into compelling creative.
  • Design and produce mockups, prototypes, and production assets across digital, social, broadcast, print, and OOH channels.
  • Own brand personality and creative vision across XCM’s portfolio of Amazon brands and initiatives, evangelizing brand purpose globally.
  • Partner with motion designers, photographers, and directors to execute high-production brand experiences.
  • Concepting and designing alongside the team — not just reviewing work, but actively creating mockups, exploratory directions, and production-ready assets.
  • Interpreting a creative brief and rapidly developing design directions that respond to both business goals and customer needs.
  • Directing a small team of designers in close collaboration with program managers, production, motion, and media teams.

Requirements

  • Have an online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and advertising experience across a range of media and platforms, along with work that reflects your design process
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience driving compelling creative strategy and hands-on execution at a design agency or in-house creative team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Fine Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred

  • Deep understanding of typography, layout, grid, and design principles across digital and print, with experience designing transformative interactive experiences: front-end UI, narrative storytelling, systems thinking, prototyping, and production-ready assets.
  • Proficiency in Figma, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong art direction skills and understanding of motion design principles — experience concepting, directing, and executing photo and video shoots, and developing brand image systems from initial vision through final production assets.
  • Familiarity with the evolving AI landscape as it applies to design — including awareness of generative image and video tools, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging best practices — with a thoughtful point of view on how these tools can raise the creative bar without compromising craft or brand integrity.
  • Self-motivated team player with refined leadership presence and proven ability to present creative concepts effectively to senior executives and influence stakeholders across organizational levels.
  • Experience supporting global campaigns and working with international teams across markets, time zones, and cultural contexts to deliver cohesive brand work at scale.

Benefits

  • health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage)
  • 401(k) matching
  • paid time off
  • parental leave

Amazon

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one. Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world. Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind. You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
