Job Summary

Own content creation and brand voice across the organization, guiding end-to-end campaigns, calendars, and partner communications to advance environmental initiatives.

  • Write and produce multi-format content
  • Coordinate campaign calendars, budgets, placements, and metrics
  • Align messaging with partner organizations and outreach initiatives

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write and produce content across formats: social captions, email copy, web copy, newsletters, and donor appeals
  • Manage promoting our monthly giving program, from soft launch through growth
  • Build and execute campaign content calendars, including our two tree sales per year—covering multiple distribution sites, seasonal product lineups, and a full social cadence
  • Write restoration-project storytelling tied to active sites like Napier, Thurgood Marshall Middle School, and the French Broad River, including disaster-response content after events like Hurricane Helene
  • Coordinate content and messaging with partner organizations, including the Tennessee Environmental Council, Appalachian Watershed Alliance, and Recycle Reinvest
  • Develop farmer-facing initiatives like From Creek to Cattle, including partnership messaging and outreach copy
  • Build brand infrastructure as needed: name new programs and communities, write email capture copy, maintain a consistent voice across every channel
  • Handle organizational comms as they come up—leadership transitions, internal job postings, and other one-off writing needs

Requirements

  • Strong writing across multiple formats and tones, from donor appeals to social captions to campaign copy
  • Ability to manage a campaign end to end—not just the copy, but the calendar, the logistics (budget, placement, metric tracking) and the timeline
  • Comfort working in a small, mission-driven team where the role isn't rigidly defined
  • Alignment with an equity-forward approach to environmental work: this isn't decorative language, it's the through line of everything we produce

Green Interchange

At Green Interchange we're planting trees to offset CO2 right here in Tennessee. When you offset your emissions with us, you are helping cover the cost of planting trees. You can also join us as a volunteer at one of our tree planting events, or invite your company or business to support us. We plant trees in highway interchanges and other public spaces. Trees naturally and effectively absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. Each tree we plant will absorb up to 48 pounds of CO2 per year at maturity. By doing this we reduce the carbon footprint and make our state even more beautiful!
