Responsibilities

• Develops and executes strategic community engagement efforts to increase the understanding and awareness of County programs, initiatives, and services
• Designs and implements strategies that reflect County branding and organizational goals.
• Leads and manages volunteer cultural Councils.
• Implements digital engagement strategies, in coordination with the Digital Communications Specialist, including leveraging social media platforms and web tools to expand public access and participation.
• Cultivates and maintains partnerships with outside agencies, community groups, and volunteers to support County initiatives and events.
• Coordinates County representation at community events.
• Plans, organizes, and executes special events and community engagement activities.
• Plans, arranges, displays, and exhibits materials at events to inform and engage the public.
• Communicates organizational goals and initiatives to the public, community groups, partner organizations, and governmental entities.
• Oversees budget for community relations and special events activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field and 3 years of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, sponsorship/grant solicitation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
• Must have ability to work outside of normal business hours, when necessary, for meetings, training, or emergencies/on-call assignments.

Preferred

• Experience working effectively with elected officials, government agencies, community organizations, businesses, nonprofits and the public.
• Experience developing and implementing community engagement and outreach strategies for various stakeholders and audiences.
• Experience planning, coordinating and executing events, including logistics, budgets, permits, volunteers and public safety.
