Drive Port KC communications and stakeholder engagement across multi-channel platforms to protect and promote the organization’s initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and distribute internal and external communications
  • Manage social media strategy, content creation, and platform engagement
  • Plan, design, and implement communications materials, including print, digital, and web content
  • Research, write, and publish content including press releases, articles, newsletters, board materials, and presentations
  • Support and execute strategic communications and marketing initiatives
  • Coordinate events and support programming, including activities at Berkley Riverfront
  • Assist with media relations and respond to public and stakeholder inquiries
  • Maintain PR and communications tools and systems
  • Attend community meetings and support stakeholder engagement efforts
  • Provide communications support for cross-departmental initiatives, including RFP/Q processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, branding, or digital media
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences
  • Experience managing and growing social media platforms
  • Strong understanding of brand management and content strategy
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Photography and/or videography skills
  • Design experience (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, etc.)
  • Spanish language proficiency (written and verbal)
