Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create digital content including articles, newsletters, website pages, social media posts, and multimedia materials.
  • Identify timely topics relevant to California employers, public policy, and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with experts to produce content supporting advocacy and informational goals.
  • Maintain brand voice and editorial standards across communications.
  • Help plan content calendars, campaigns, and multimedia projects.
  • Work with designers, videographers, and external vendors to execute projects.
  • Monitor content performance and suggest improvements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in journalism, communications, or related field (journalism or persuasive writing background preferred).
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines with polished writing.
  • Experience with multimedia content (video editing, podcasts, graphics).
  • Ability to simplify complex policy topics for broad audiences.
  • Strong research and fact-checking skills.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (CMS, social media, design/video tools).

Preferred

  • Familiarity with California public policy and advocacy.
  • Experience with advocacy organizations, newsrooms, or public-facing institutions.
  • Knowledge of SEO and digital communication strategies.
