Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organizational branding and narrative strategy that amplifies the work of LA Voice.
  • Develop and implement strategy for our social media, website, and email communication across multiple audiences: grassroots leaders, clergy of multiple faiths, donors at all levels, institutional funders and professional peers.
  • Ensure that all organizational campaigns, events, and programming have a clear, goal-oriented communications strategy that covers all bases, e.g. print and online promotional materials, social media, and earned media.
  • Build digital advocacy and mobilization strategies that complement our on-the-ground organizing to reach our constituencies and move people to action.
  • Develop and manage communications strategy for our affiliated 501c(4) organization, LA Voice Action, in collaboration with our Civic Engagement Director.
  • Analyze metrics and to inform and refine the above.

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience in communications and media in a nonprofit and/or social-change environment
  • Experience with digital online platforms like Webflow, adobe creative suite, social media managers , Action Network
  • Experience with traditional/earned media
  • Proven track record in developing effective data-informed messaging and branding
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and evidence of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to set goals and manage projects to success
  • Cultural competence to support and promote a multi-racial, multi-lingual, interfaith environment
  • Experience with community organizing, either as an organizer or in communications for organizing groups

Preferred

  • Experience with graphic and/or web design or video production
  • Fluency in Spanish or other language related to our work
  • Personal experience with incarceration, undocumented status or homelessness/housing displacement/severe rent burden
