How we got hereOur story began in 1954, when Walter Hanson’s civil engineering ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to start our company with two other engineers. The trio’s first job involved designing 56 bridges for the Kansas Turnpike, a 236-mile-long road that was built from 1954 to 1956, before the Interstate Highway System.
