Job Summary

Own the YouTube channel operations for a charity-focused audience, turning video publishing, community management, and cross-channel promotion into a simple, repeatable engine.

  • Responsibilities: Own publishing cadence, metadata optimization, thumbnail design, playlists, and monthly analytics to drive organic reach.
  • Audience & Community: Moderate discussions, foster education, and surface viewer questions for editorial topics.
  • Cross-Channel & Repurposing: Coordinate with social teams to promote videos and adapt long-form content into Shorts.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Upload and schedule video releases, optimising titles, descriptions, and tags for discovery
  • Create compelling thumbnails using provided templates and simple design tools
  • Manage playlists and organise content
  • Monitor channel analytics and provide monthly performance insights
  • Respond to viewer comments
  • Moderate comments to maintain a respectful, educational environment
  • Share interesting viewer questions with our editorial team for potential video topics
  • Post community updates about new videos, articles and other initiatives
  • Coordinate with our social media team to promote videos across platforms
  • Assist with repurposing long-form content into YouTube Shorts

Requirements

  • You are able to commit at least 3 hours per month to this position.
  • Proven experience as a Youtube channel manager, social media editor, content creator, community manager, or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of Youtube and social media platform algorithms, as well as how to generate organic reach with posts.
  • Ability to engage people, generate discussions, and create share-worthy content.
  • Ability to respond to comments and engage with the audience effectively, moderating discussions and guiding conversations.
  • Strong sense of aesthetics and ability to create visually appealing posts.
  • Mindset to take initiative on your own, determine your own strategies, and set your own goals, without direct management, as this is a remote position.
  • Understanding of copyright laws and ethical standards in content creation.
