Job Summary

Own the council’s communications rhythm with a plan that ties resident updates, councillor collaboration, and Community Hub marketing to a single opening-driven schedule.

  • Responsibility: Manage day-to-day communications across digital and print to keep residents, partners, councillors and staff informed.
  • Responsibility: Build and execute an annual strategy with a concrete delivery plan, coordinating with Councillors and the Parish Clerk.
  • Responsibility: Oversee multi-channel execution and inject Councillors/officers as needed while aligning with the Council’s strategy.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of internal and external communications, so residents, partners, councillors and staff receive clear, timely and accessible information.
  • Work closely with Councillors and the Parish Clerk to ensure that an annual communications strategy is agreed with a detailed delivery plan underpinning it.
  • Ensure that the plan encompasses the range of communications channels and is implemented, drawing in Councillors and other officers as needed.
  • Maintain the council’s digital and printed communication channels, support community engagement, promote council services, facilities and events, and contribute to communications planning aligned with the Council’s strategy.
  • Keep residents informed on the development of the Community Hub as construction continues; develop and implement a full marketing plan in preparation for opening (summer 2027).

Requirements

  • 20 hours per week – with some evening meetings and weekend work.
  • No DBS Check required (note: DBS Check field shows No)
