Job Summary

Own and coordinate the firm’s internal and external communications, aligning editorial review, governance, and leadership messaging across media to drive engagement and clarity for lawyers and business services teams.

  • Editorial and governance ownership: review external content, ensure risk/compliance, and shape priority messages.
  • Internal campaigns: design and supervise intranet, newsletters, and cascading practice-group communications.
  • Advisor and enablement: train lawyers, advise departments, and partner with leadership to elevate impact.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, and takes a hands-on role in reviewing external content, including, announcements, biographies, firm-produced legal updates and white papers, and other firm-authored content.
  • Works with the Firm’s global editorial team to review workflow and processes.
  • Supports strategic external marketing communications efforts that support the Firm’s brand.
  • Ensures compliance with Firm risk and governance procedures, including review and engagement by legal, risk, and brand stakeholders
  • Provides regular insights and training to lawyers to help them make their content more compelling and effective.
  • Collaborates with Firm leadership and other departments to define and articulate the priority messages for internal communications campaigns.
  • Develops internal communications campaigns across all relevant media to communicate the priority messages of the Firm – including written materials, cascading messages through practices groups, videos, podcasts, intranet posts, and other relevant media.
  • Supervises the efforts of the Internal Communications Specialist to support fulfillment of all internal communications projects.
  • Advises business services departments on development of effective communication strategies to increase engagement and understanding of firm-wide initiatives.
  • Manages content on the Firm’s intranet home page.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field. A combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the role.
  • At least 6 years of experience in marketing communications, journalism or other communications roles
  • Experience writing and editing high-quality, content-driven communications materials
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of writing and editorial, including familiarity with editorial style manuals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • SharePoint (preferred)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (preferred)
  • Basic understanding of HTML (preferred)
