Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy and Editorial Planning
  • - Develop and execute a structured, forward-looking content plan aligned with Front Line Genomics’ strategic priorities.
  • -   Ensure content is timely, relevant, and captures the “zeitgeist” of the industry.
  • Interview-Led Content Development
  • - Lead the development of an interview-driven content model, delivering approximately five interviews per week across multiple formats.
  • - Conduct interviews across formats including:
  • - Extract high-value, proprietary insights that differentiates Front Line Genomics’ content from AI-generated information.
  • Website Ownership and Content Management
  • - Oversee and manage the Front Line Genomics website (WordPress).
  • - Publish and manage all content on the website, ensuring consistency and quality.

Requirements

  • Education: A first or 2.1 bachelor’s degree in a biological sciences subject. This is a must have. A master’s degree or PhD is a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years-experience in a life sciences writing, interviewing and proofing/editing role.
  • Communications: Strong background in science writing, journalism, or life sciences communication.
  • Interviewing: Excellent interviewing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and extract valuable insights.
  • Writing and proofing: Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading abilities, with high attention to detail.
  • Topic knowledge: Strong understanding of genomics, life sciences or related technical fields.
  • Website/content platforms: Experience managing digital content platforms (e.g., WordPress).
  • Other tools: Familiarity with tools such as Canva, HubSpot, Google Analytics and SEO best practices.
  • Organised: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret content performance data.

Preferred

  • A master’s degree or PhD is a plus.

  • Annual Leave. A total of 33-34 days per year, including 25 days of bookable annual leave, plus 8 public holidays, plus your birthday (upon completion of a 3-month probationary period).
  • Pension. Contributory group pension scheme upon three months of employment.
  • Remote working. You will work remotely, with just 1 day per month in London (you will need to travel to London at your own expense for monthly meetups).
  • Flexible working. Our core hours are 9.00-5.30, but you can amend these hours to fit around other commitments, appointments and activities. No unreasonable requests are denied.
  • Event travel required. To both London and Boston Festivals.
