Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of daily community management, communications and event delivery for a fast-growing professional network.
  • Bridge the gap between strategic messaging and real-world delivery, working alongside the Comms Lead.
  • Drive audience engagement, run dedicated engagement groups and lead the end-to-end logistics for high-quality events.
  • Create, manage and prioritise engagement plans and content for Grants Profession networks and channels.
  • Build partnerships across government, the wider public sector and significant stakeholders.
  • Support the design and delivery of stakeholder events and forums.
  • Deliver a communications strategy to grow the Grants Profession and boost uptake of the learning and development offer.
  • Deliver high-quality calendar of events and content that establishes the Grants Profession as a great place to work and an environment to build and enrich a career.
  • Create content and manage a series of publications, intranet items and social media channels to help build the grant-making community and promote training and career development opportunities.
  • Work with contracted partners to design, implement and evaluate audience specific communications campaigns.

Requirements

  • Essential: Strategic influence: experience in designing and delivering effective communication and engagement plans from objective through to evaluation that influence organisational culture and behaviour.
  • Event management: experience of designing and delivering engagement activities and events that deliver organisational outcomes.
  • Content creation: excellent drafting and editorial skills to turn complex technical or policy information into clear engaging narratives to showcase and storytell the measurable value, efficiency and real-world impact that robust grant management brings to the public and economy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to adjust working and communication styles to meet the requirements of multiple audiences and partners.
  • Collaboration: able to work across team boundaries to ensure communications and engagements are joined up and focused on organisational goals.
  • Project Leadership: proven track record of strong planning and organisational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work at pace.
  • Senior stakeholder management: able to build trust and provide robust advice to senior leaders in fast-paced environments.
  • Analytical thinking: experience of using insights, evidence and evaluation to monitor the effectiveness of communications and engagement activities to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate practical use of AI and digital tools to improve the quality of communications.

Preferred

  • Desirable experience: Developing and delivering membership campaigns.
  • Leading and delivering in-person and online events.
  • Using graphic design packages, eMarketing platforms and analytics/evaluation reporting on digital campaigns
  • Experience of working within and/or understanding of grant management.
