Job Description

The Outreach and Educational Partnerships Team based within the Marketing and External Relations Directorate, is seeking to appoint an Outreach Officer. This role sits within a busy and dynamic team of widening participation specialists who develop and deliver university progression support to diverse audiences of prospective students across target schools, colleges and community groups. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are looking for a rewarding career in outreach and widening access. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the UK education system. We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a Higher Education setting, delivering presentations to a variety of audiences and is committed to supporting young people to make informed decisions about their future study/career options.

The post holder should possess good knowledge of UCAS, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be highly organised. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills will be required as the post holder will be regularly liaising with key internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will be required to deliver face-to-face and digital outreach activities and events to schools, colleges and community groups including presentations, academic and transition skills workshops and subject-specific projects, making all necessary arrangements to attend these.

The successful candidate will be required to support other activities (e.g. Open Days/Clearing Operations) and undertake travel in the UK, working flexibly including occasional evenings and weekends. The post holder would be expected to work from our Avery Hill Campus, and other campuses as required, including physical delivery of events in schools and colleges in London, Kent and the Southeast.
