Job Summary

Own and operate a small marketing function with team leadership, budget stewardship, and multi-channel campaign execution that ties to venue revenue and sales targets.

  • Team ownership: recruit, coach, and prioritise workloads to deliver against marketing plans.
  • Campaign ownership: plan and run integrated programs across events, conferences, hospitality, and community activities with ROI tracking.
  • Cross-functional alignment: partner with commercial and operations to ensure marketing contributes to yield, attendance, and revenue goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a small marketing team, including recruitment, workload planning and prioritisation, performance management, training, team meetings and one-to-ones.
  • Manage and monitor marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of spend and optimisation of return on investment across campaigns and channels.
  • Plan and deliver integrated, trackable multi-channel marketing campaigns that support the full venue offer, including ticketed events, conferences and exhibitions, hospitality, attractions and community activity, ensuring delivery against contractual and commercial targets. Work closely with commercial and operational teams to align marketing activity with sales targets, yield strategies and revenue objectives.
  • Support the conferences and exhibitions team with marketing requirements, including promotion of trade events and expos, and the development of tailored collateral and materials to drive awareness, attendance and commercial outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience and/or a good knowledge of the cultural and commercial business events industry, hospitality services and working in the charitable sector
  • Experience in planning and delivering multichannel campaigns, working to a budget, and reporting ROI.
  • Track record of managing people, workstreams, developing and delivering content plans and actions, activities, and events ensuring that these adhere to brand guidelines, tone of voice and copyright.
  • Experience in maintaining customer databases. Up-to-date knowledge of ASA guidelines and legislation including copyright, data protection including GDPR, privacy, data collection and handling.
  • Experienced in using data and content management systems and platforms for managing across websites, customer communication platforms (email/app) and social media channels
