Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver an annual Marketing Plan for the museum.
  • Develop marketing collateral, with agency support where required, in line with the museum’s brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  • Reach new audiences through marketing that tells The Story of Going Places, meeting visitor number targets, within agreed budgets.
  • Maintain and update the museum website (based on Craft CMS), Shopify and social media channels, with support from the wider team for content.
  • Manage the end to end membership and annual pass renewal processes, manage member communications and develop the membership scheme to attract new members.
  • Develop and deliver a compelling annual events calendar, working with stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Promote the museum as a resource to others.
  • Other duties relating to marketing and events may be required, as agreed with the Museum Manager, as our offering develops.

Requirements

  • Experience of successful events management and marketing is required - we recognise that this might come in different forms, so please do not be put off applying if you do not have a degree.
  • Hold a full, manual UK driving licence.
  • IT Literacy: Proficiency in digital systems. Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite is essential, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Customer Service: Outstanding skills in handling queries and communicating effectively with trustees, members, visitors and supporters.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to work cohesively and coordinate efforts with all trustees, staff and volunteers involved in the museum.
  • Commercial Acumen: Sound decision-making abilities to make effective commercial judgments are critical for the role.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities to manage diverse responsibilities, prioritise tasks, and drive efficiency in the operation.
  • Ability to work independently, taking pride in the quality of work delivered and have a genuine interest in cars, motorcycles and other forms of land transport, their heritage and preservation for the future.
