Job Description

Responsibilities

  • PR Strategy & Media Relations
  • Own and shape Coolr’s PR strategy, building a distinctive and consistent presence across the media that reflects who we are, what we’re great at and where we’re going.
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with journalists and editors across the UK and US, particularly across titles such as Campaign, The Drum, Adweek, PRWeek, Ad Age and beyond.
  • Be constantly looking for the next story — turning our work, culture, data, people and point of view into proactive stories that earn attention rather than simply waiting for press opportunities to come to us.
  • Take the lead when the press comes calling, managing reactive enquiries quickly and confidently and ensuring every interaction strengthens Coolr’s reputation.
  • Keep a close eye on what’s landing, using coverage, performance and industry insight to demonstrate impact and continually evolve our approach.
  • Thought Leadership & Content
  • Define the topics, conversations and points of view Coolr should be known for, building a thought leadership programme that gives the agency a meaningful voice in the industry.
  • Work with senior leaders and experts across the agency to turn their expertise into compelling opinion pieces, trend reports, whitepapers, interviews and other content that people actually want to read.
  • Working with our Marketing Lead on spotting opportunities for Coolr to contribute to the conversations shaping social, creativity, culture and the wider industry — and make sure we have something interesting to say when we do.

Requirements

  • Significant agency PR or trade communications experience, either in-house at an agency or within a specialist PR consultancy. With a proven track record of securing proactive, high-quality editorial coverage, not simply relying on reactive press releases or news pickups.
  • Strong UK and US media experience, with a genuine understanding of how the two markets differ, what makes a story land in each, and how to tailor an approach accordingly.
  • Established relationships with journalists and editors across leading UK and US trade titles, including Campaign, The Drum, PRWeek, Adweek, Ad Age and similar, with the credibility to pick up the phone and have a meaningful conversation with them.
  • An exceptional writer. Whether it’s a press release, award entry, editorial pitch, thought leadership piece or social post, you know how to find the angle, sharpen the story and make every word earn its place.
  • Highly self-sufficient and proactive. You’ll be comfortable owning the PR pipeline, spotting opportunities before they’re obvious, managing senior stakeholders and getting things done without needing to be hand-held.
  • Commercially minded. You understand that great PR isn’t just about impressing the industry — it’s about making an agency look credible, relevant and valuable to current and prospective clients.
  • A genuine passion for the agency and social landscape. You read the trades, know what’s happening in the industry, understand what clients and competitors are talking about — and get a genuine buzz from seeing our work and our name in the right places.
