Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and champion the growth mission of the UN Global Compact Network UK, acting as a senior ambassador for the organisation’s value proposition. Drive strategic outreach to engage C-suite and sustainability leaders at prospective member companies, articulating the case for participation compellingly and with industry understanding.
  • Own and lead the development and execution of the annual recruitment and marketing plan, setting targets and translating strategy into action. Lead and oversee the creation of high-impact marketing content and campaigns — including email outreach, social media, and outreach communications — to generate a consistent pipeline of qualified leads.
  • Lead on high-level outreach activity, including proactive prospecting, conducting outreach calls, inbound lead conversion, and relationship development with key targets. Ensure the team operates within an agreed and consistent outreach methodology, maintaining quality and compliance at every touchpoint.
  • Drive the conversion of inbound leads and warm prospects into Network participants. Design and implement structured follow-up processes and lead nurturing sequences, working with the team to maximise conversion rates and minimise drop-off across the pipeline.
  • Own and maintain a high-quality, structured pipeline of prospective participants in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity, accurate stage progression, and timely follow-ups. Use Salesforce to produce regular pipeline reports, track KPIs, and provide growth updates and forecasting to senior leadership.
  • Produce and present regular growth performance reports using Excel and Salesforce, including pipeline analysis, conversion metrics, lead source tracking, and initial revenue forecasting. Translate data into clear insights and actionable recommendations for the Director of Participant Engagement and wider leadership.
  • Work closely with programme colleagues to align growth and outreach activity with the Network’s broader impact agenda. Identify and leverage events, publications, and Network milestones as marketing and lead generation opportunities.
  • Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with business associations, chambers of commerce, and sector bodies to extend the Network’s reach. Represent the organisation at senior-level events and conferences, generating high-quality leads and raising the Network’s profile with key audiences.
  • Line manage two Outreach Managers, a coordinator, providing clear direction, regular one-to-ones, performance management, and professional development support to build a high-performing growth team.
  • Set clear individual and team objectives aligned to the overall growth strategy, tracking progress against targets and holding regular pipeline reviews with direct reports to ensure accountability and quality.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in consultative sales, business development, or growth roles within professional services, sustainability advisory, or a corporate commercial function, with a track record of managing complex sales cycles and long-term account relationships.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of corporate sustainability, with the credibility to engage C-suite and senior business leaders and translate sustainability topics into compelling business propositions.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute lead generating marketing strategies through digital channels, content marketing, event-based outreach and provide performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, AI and Salesforce CRM, with high standards for pipeline hygiene, data accuracy, and the ability to produce clear growth reports and forecasts for senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior audiences, lead external sessions, and represent the organisation credibly at events and in partner relationships.
  • Proven experience in line managing and developing individuals in a target-driven environment, with an inclusive and motivating leadership style.
  • Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to identify growth opportunities and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, able to build buy-in internally and externally.
  • Someone who is comfortable managing multiple priorities across strategy, outreach, marketing, and people management in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

  • Hybrid working – After onboarding, a minimum of two days in the office per week, working from home up to 3 days per week.
  • Flexible working around our core/active hours of 10 am to 4 pm.
  • Compressed hours of 9-day fortnights in Summer.
  • Employee Assistance Programme for you and your immediate family.
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service.
  • Three additional days off between Christmas and New Year, offered at the organisation’s discretion.
  • Menstruation and menopause leave.
  • Three additional days off for mission-related volunteering or sustainable travel.
  • Enhanced pension scheme after probation.
  • Enhanced sick leave.
