Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of internal and external events.
  • Co-ordinating venues, catering, travel, equipment, event materials and attendee information.
  • Managing event plans, schedules, actions and timelines.
  • Working with department leads, presenters, clients, suppliers and event partners.
  • Supporting presentations, invitations, briefing notes and wider event communications.
  • Co-ordinating branded materials, signage, displays and promotional items.
  • Capturing photography and short-form content at events where required.
  • Providing on-the-day support to help events run smoothly.
  • Supporting event budgets, quotations, purchase orders and invoices.
  • Gathering feedback and identifying improvements for future events.

Requirements

  • A degree, HND or equivalent qualification in events management, marketing, communications, public relations, branding, business or a related subject.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines at the same time.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of agreed actions.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Creativity and an interest in events, communications, presentations and visual content.
  • The confidence to communicate professionally with colleagues, senior stakeholders, clients and suppliers.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • The ability to remain calm, flexible and solutions-focused when plans change.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across the business.

Preferred

  • Relevant experience gained through placements, internships, university societies, volunteering, part-time work or previous employment would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or similar design tools, along with basic photography, video or content-editing skills, would also be advantageous.
