Job Summary

Build and own a video-first gaming content engine across YouTube, social, and RT platforms, guiding on-camera storytelling and data-driven audience growth.

  • Content creation and formats: produce video-first pieces for YouTube, social, and RT platforms.
  • Community engagement and interviews: build authentic relationships with gamers and developers, including expo or interview coverage.
  • Audience growth and insights: analyse reader data to tailor stories and expand reach.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging and informative digital content about video games to help expand our Gaming channels across YouTube, social media and RT-owned platforms.
  • Be video-first in content creation, comfortable presenting on camera, and translating visual stories into written pieces and other formats.
  • Report on the hottest new game releases and conduct interviews with developers or attend a gaming expo.
  • Engage with the gaming community on personal and RT accounts and build authentic community involvement.
  • Create content for our website, magazine and app across formats (video, social, written).
  • Collaborate with a talented team, brainstorm new formats, and refine strategies.
  • Analyse data to identify what readers want and tailor content to grow and engage the Radio Times Gaming community.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the gaming industry
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Experience with multimedia content creation
  • Strong interpersonal skills for conducting interviews and collaborating with team members
  • Ability to adapt to changing trends, topics and ways of working within the gaming industry and the media world
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new platforms is essential

Nice-to-have

  • Demonstrable experience in creation of video content is strongly preferred
  • A strong social media presence or experience with community engagement is preferred
  • Understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them to online content is preferred
  • Familiarity with content management systems and digital analytics tools is preferred
