Do you have the digital content leadership expertise to transform how millions of people experience one of the UK’s largest health charities online? Are you an experienced people leader who can coach and develop a team in a complex digital environment?

About the role

As Digital Content Manager, you'll lead and develop a team of five Content Designers, setting priorities, standards and ways of working that turn organisational goals into accessible, effective digital content. You'll manage the team's pipeline, balance capacity and demand, ensure delivery to agreed SLAs, while fostering a supportive culture of coaching and continuous improvement.

Working at the centre of several key strategic initiatives, you'll play a leading role in the delivery of BHF's Content Review Cycle and upcoming CMS migration programme. Balancing operational leadership with longer-term planning, you'll help prioritise activity, improve content performance and ensure resources are focused where they can create the greatest value for users and the organisation.

As BHF's content champion, you'll work with digital, product, technology, UX, SEO, data and customer journey teams to improve content practice, shape digital direction and build sustainable delivery across the organisation.

Your leadership will help more people access vital information and support, enabling the British Heart Foundation to save and improve lives.

About You

You’ll have a strong track record of leading content professionals in a complex digital environment and building high-performing teams that deliver innovative and measurable results.

You'll bring:

  • Experience leading, coaching and developing content, content design or digital content teams.
  • Significant experience managing content across large, complex websites and CMS platforms.
  • Strong expertise in content strategy, content design, accessibility and SEO.
  • Experience using analytics, insight and performance data to inform decisions and improve outcomes, including using tools such as GA4, Siteimprove, SemRush
  • The ability to prioritise and delegate competing workstreams and lead content delivery across multiple projects and programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with confidence working across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, content transformation or CMS migration activity.

You'll thrive if you're a collaborative and empowering leader who enjoys developing others, solving complex challenges and creating the conditions for great work to happen. You're motivated by continuous improvement and passionate about ensuring digital experiences genuinely meet audience needs.

Why Join Us?

This is more than a content leadership role. This is an opportunity to lead, influence and continuously improve content experiences across one of the UK's most recognised health charities.

Working arrangements

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week in our London office. This may vary from time to time so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
