Job Summary

Own accessibility driven content management across AHDB by updating CMS content, guiding authors, and driving search optimization with a focus on inclusive UX.

  • Accessibility remediation: identify, fix, and retest issues using audit findings and user feedback to close tickets effectively.
  • Content collaboration and guidance: advise authors, develop intranet authoring guidance, and ensure accessibility is embedded in workshops.
  • Measurement and strategy support: partner with the Senior Digital Content and Publications Manager to measure content performance and shape engagement plans with accessibility in mind.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Use excellent editing and copywriting skills, considering accessibility for users, to create digital content that is optimised for search, encourages engagement and improves the user experience
  • Update corporate websites using a CMS
  • Support identification and remediation of website accessibility issues across AHDB websites, working from audit findings, user feedback and internal checks
  • Log, track and manage accessibility issues through to closure, maintaining clear documentation and evidence
  • Retest fixes and confirm issues are resolved; escalate where issues persist or require technical changes
  • Work with colleagues to prioritise fixes and meet agreed timelines
  • Offer advice and support to content authors and subject matter experts
  • Optimise content for search based on SEO research provided by commissioned agencies
  • Create and commission authoring guidance for our intranet, ensuring that all aspects of accessibility are covered
  • Represent the digital content offering in creative workshops for content authors, ensuring that accessibility is included
  • Support the Senior Digital Content and Publications Manager in formulating engagement strategies and measuring content performance, ensuring accessibility

Requirements

  • Significant experience in copyediting and copywriting for digital channels, along with a working knowledge of how modern audiences consume digital content
  • Experience in creating and optimising content to drive organic search traffic
  • Experience in using a CMS
  • Proven ability to take a creative brief and deliver great, audience-centric digital content
  • A good understanding of effective ways to create a broad range of digital content types
  • Experience in working with analytic tools to inform creative executions
  • Excellent organisational skills and a strong attention to detail, with good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Familiarity with WCAG and/or accessibility testing tools (any level)
  • Understanding of HTML basics and common accessibility issues (helpful but not required)
