Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead on sourcing and developing stories from families, supporters, staff and stakeholders, creating publish-ready content across PR, web, email, social media, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Interview families and supporters, writing compelling stories and press releases, supporting campaign content, helping develop digital-first storytelling approaches.
  • Build a strong pipeline of stories, quotes, images and video content for use across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the PR Manager and Income Generation and Marketing Directorate to support regional media activity, fundraising campaigns and digital communications.
  • Manage multiple priorities and proactively drive a pipeline of stories across a range of projects and campaigns.
  • Think creatively by identifying new story angles, developing alternative content routes, and helping diversify the voices and experiences represented across our communications.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in communications, public relations or journalism.
  • Alongside your experience in communications, journalism, PR, content creation or digital marketing, you’ll have excellent writing skills, strong interviewing ability and a real instinct for finding and shaping powerful stories.
  • Ability to write high-quality, compassionate and impactful content.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to balance priorities, and maintain accurate records and media consents.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively drive a pipeline of stories across a range of projects and campaigns.

Preferred

  • Experience in hospice or healthcare setting is welcome, but not essential.
  • Ability to think creatively by identifying new story angles, developing alternative content routes, and helping diversify voices and experiences represented across our communications.
