Social Security Scotland’s Fraud and Error Resolution Unit (FERU) is seeking a Low-Income Benefits Interventions Officer to join their friendly and supportive Interventions Team. The team’s main objective is to utilise error control measures to respond to official and client error in the administration of devolved low-income benefits.
As a Low-Income Benefits Interventions Officer, you will undertake payment error control activity, playing an important part in contributing to the safeguarding of vital resources for the people of Scotland who need them. You will review error cases to determine whether an error has occurred, then take corrective action, issue any underpayments to the clients, or refer the over payment to our Recoveries Team. You will also determine classifications and root causes of errors and be able to explain your decision with a written explanation.
