Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Creating and commissioning engaging and inclusive social media content for organic and paid use that supports audience growth, brand awareness, engagement and conversion – whether that’s applications, enquiries or event sign ups.
  • Leading on community management on social, including monitoring comments and messages, responding appropriately, escalating issues where required and protecting the College’s reputation online.
  • Handling the paid social advertising campaigns, from budget allocation to campaign set up, refinement and monitoring – with support from the wider department.
  • Being client-led and responsive to requests from colleagues in other departments in the college to ensure success stories from all campuses are featured in our social media channels.
  • Using analytics and reporting tools to monitor channel performance, evaluating campaign effectiveness and providing clear, insight-led recommendations for improvement.
  • Contributing to and implementing any relevant social media guidelines, such as tone of voice and consent capture, to ensure consistent and appropriate use across the College.
  • Working alongside your manager to advise colleagues on effective use of social media, providing guidance that aligns with College priorities, safeguarding and brand standards.
  • Working with external partners and influencers to build positive relationships, to secure social media coverage and promote our brand, including producing and distributing social media content and case studies that align to the College’s key messages.
  • Proactively adhering to safeguarding practice, EDI and Health and Safety by ensuring all social media content promotes diversity, protects our students and vulnerable adults and keeps them safe on and offline.
  • Supporting an out of hours service to ensure news and important messaging reaches intended audiences via the correct social media channels at appropriate times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with achieving excellent social media campaign results which have generated tangible impact.
  • Hard-working, creative and driven professional.
  • Experience with social media trends, platform changes and audience behaviours – including influence of AI – and using insight to inform channel strategy and campaign activity.
  • Confidence in experimentation, pivoting approaches and quickly spotting what is working.
