Job Summary

Own and execute social media content, community marketing campaigns, and event support to promote local businesses and town centre initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage engaging social media content across multiple platforms
  • Plan and schedule content to promote local businesses, events and community initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with local businesses, encouraging engagement and maintaining accurate digital content.
  • Produce regular business newsletters and marketing communications.
  • Develop content to showcase projects, campaigns and the positive impact of town centre initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning, promotion and delivery of events, including coordinating logistics and capturing live content.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, suppliers and partner organisations to deliver marketing campaigns and community projects.
  • Monitor social media channels, responding to enquiries and engaging with audiences in a professional manner.
  • Identify new marketing opportunities and proactively approach businesses to feature in campaigns.
  • Support a wide range of marketing, communications and administrative activities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Be creative with excellent written communication skills.
  • Have a strong understanding of social media platforms and current trends.
  • Be confident creating photo and video content using a smartphone and editing software.
  • Be able to work independently, manage their own workload and take initiative.
  • Be proactive in identifying opportunities.
  • Be organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be confident communicating with businesses and external partners.
  • Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine interest in supporting the local business community.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience using scheduling platforms and analytics tools.
  • Photography and video editing skills.
  • An interest in place marketing, tourism or community engagement.
