Job Summary
Own the media underwriting function, shaping growth and profitability through risk assessment, pricing strategy, broker partnerships, and team development.
- Own underwriting strategy for media: pricing, product and distribution decisions that drive profitable growth.
- Develop brokers and associations, forge partnerships, and lead a media underwriting team with coaching.
- Harness data to identify trends, adjust rules, and improve customer experience while maintaining market-leading risk stance.
Job Description
- Lead underwriting by managing complex risks and detailed referrals. It is therefore essential that you are technically astute, have strong relationship management skills and are driven by an exceptional service ethic.
- Deliver the financial plan. Accountable for the accelerated growth of the Media sector, ensuring both the top line and bottom line hits budget.
- Accountability for identifying, investigating and developing new and exciting opportunities for growth through pricing, product, distribution and underwriting
- Use a range of data to identify underwriting trends, rules and process improvements to improve the customer experience, drive profitable growth and our underwriting strategy
- Develop and grow key strategic relationships with brokers, associations and buying groups within the sector
- A key part of the role is to inspire, lead and develop Underwriters, through targeted coaching and training
- Keeping abreast of new risks and exposures within the sector to ensure Hiscox market leading position is maintained
- Maintenance of policy wordings, Technical Underwriting Guides and input to all customer facing materials
- Provide thought leadership both internally and externally
- In depth knowledge of competitors, products and propositions within the market
