Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute advertising and marketing campaigns to promote South Indian groceries, fresh vegetables, spices, rice, frozen foods, and household products.
  • Plan and coordinate seasonal promotions, festival campaigns (such as Onam, Pongal, Diwali, Vishu, and Ugadi), and new product launches.
  • Promote authentic South Indian brands and products to increase market reach within local communities.
  • Travel extensively across the UK to visit company stores, exhibitions, supplier locations, cultural events, and promotional campaigns to coordinate marketing activities and promotional displays.
  • Create engaging marketing content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business, and other digital channels.
  • Build relationships with local community organisations, cultural associations, wholesalers, and businesses to promote the company’s products and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer preferences, competitor activities, and emerging trends in the Indian grocery and fresh produce market.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and prepare reports on marketing performance and return on investment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, designers, printers, and advertising agencies to produce promotional materials.
  • Support sales initiatives by developing point-of-sale materials, promotional offers, and customer loyalty campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business, Advertising, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum two (2) years of proven experience in advertising and marketing, preferably within the Indian grocery, ethnic food, fresh produce, or retail supermarket sector.
  • Strong knowledge of South Indian grocery products, fresh vegetables, spices, lentils, rice varieties, frozen foods, and regional food preferences.
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing South Indian products and understanding the purchasing behaviour of South Asian communities in the UK.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, including social media advertising, content creation, Meta Business Suite, Canva, and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and develop targeted marketing strategies.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake constant travel across the UK are essential for this role.
