Job Description

Responsibilities

Create and adapt engaging social media content, including written posts, graphics, photos, short-form videos, carousels, and other digital content.
Help develop content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X.
Assist with building and maintaining a social media content calendar.
Schedule approved posts across department platforms.
Brainstorm ideas for campaigns, recurring content series, employee spotlights, public-service messages, events, and department initiatives.
Help turn detailed or technical information into clear, accessible, and engaging content.
Monitor comments, messages, and conversations on department social media channels and respond or escalate them when appropriate.
Review performance data such as reach, engagement, impressions, follower growth, and content performance.
Help prepare reports and recommend ways to improve future content.
Collaborate with communications, marketing, program, and department team members to maintain consistent branding and messaging.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Tennessee college or university studying communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, graphic design, digital media, public administration, or a related field.
Familiarity with major social media platforms.
Basic experience with Canva.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and complete assignments on schedule.

Preferred

Experience with photography, Photoshop, video editing software, social media scheduling tools, or analytics platforms
