Job Description

Video Editor - My Duvet Flip

Location: London (3 days/week in-office)

Salary: £60,000 to £80,000

The Role

My Duvet Flip is bringing video production in-house, and we need a brilliant editor to lead it. This is an edit-first role for someone who lives in the cut: building long-form episodes, turning every episode into a stream of short-form social content, and cutting trailers that actually make people hit play. You'll also film episodes when needed, but the craft you're obsessed with is what happens in post.

This isn't an assistant-edit role. You'll own post-production from start to finish, and it's the editing bar you're here to set: the pacing, the motion graphics, the sound design, the grade. You're the one who delivers it, every week, without anyone chasing you.

What You'll Do

  • Edit long-form episodes start to finish in DaVinci Resolve
  • Cut high-volume short-form content for social from each episode, with a sharp eye for what actually hooks and holds attention
  • Edit high-impact trailers that sell the show and drive new audiences to hit play
  • Design and animate motion graphics, titles and on-screen elements that lift every edit, in Resolve or After Effects
  • Own the sound design and audio mix: clean dialogue, music, effects, the lot
  • Handle colour correction and grading to a polished, broadcast-quality finish
  • Build and evolve the show's visual identity, then keep it consistent across every format
  • Manage the full post-production workflow: ingest, organisation, delivery
  • Film the show when needed: camera, audio and studio setup, solo or with light support
  • Bring ideas, references and creative ambition, not just execute briefs

What You'll Bring

  • A genuine obsession with video editing, you'd rather be in the timeline than anywhere else
  • Proven experience editing a podcast or digital show end to end, ideally solo
  • Strong motion graphics skills in After Effects and/or Resolve Fusion
  • A real ear for sound design and mixing, plus a confident hand with colour grading
  • A track record cutting trailers or promos with real hook and pace, the kind that stop a scroll
  • Expert-level DaVinci Resolve
  • A strong portfolio across long-form and short-form
  • Comfortable filming when required: camera, lighting, audio basics
  • Self-starting and highly organised; you don't need a producer hovering over you

What We're Looking For

  • Expertise in short-form social video editing and storytelling, with a deep understanding of pacing, structure and emotion
  • A strong grasp of platform algorithms and best practices across TikTok, Instagram, Shorts, Facebook and Snapchat
  • The ability to analyse performance data and quickly adapt editing strategies to improve results

Before You Apply

Only apply if you can evidence high-quality editing projects that showcase your motion graphics, colour correction and grading, and sound design. We want to see the craft, not just hear about it, so make sure your portfolio puts it front and centre. When you apply, and get a response asking you to email with the next action, make sure in your email you share a video podcast channel you rate, and why.

Why This Role

This is the first full-time hire for the show's video output. You'll be building the visual identity and the workflow from scratch, with full ownership. If you want to build something rather than maintain someone else's system, this is that job.
