Job Description

Responsibilities

  • International go-to-market strategy: Business and marketing goals definition – With the right vantage point, the go-to-market strategy is the unifying element that drives efficient execution and growth across the Sustainability and BTC portfolio of offerings. The essential needs are to identify knowledge that helps the organization grow and remain relevant in a mature market, identify unmet buyer needs across sustainability and built environment verticals and regions, and enable feature and function rationalization to build new offerings.
  • Responsibilities: Size and segment global markets, align UL Solutions Sustainability and BTC portfolios to buyer/customer needs and align them with marketing, sales and product/service strategy.
  • Portfolio messaging and content: Shift from product to customer-centricity – Ensuring that the organization delivers a consistent, customer-focused message while continuously improving messaging with insights into the entire messaging cycle is critical. Messaging must continue to evolve through a full-circle review of content, driven by insights into how the messaging organization process is performing.
  • Responsibilities: Understand the differentiators for buyers and buying committees, implement customer-centric messaging methodology, and facilitate alignment on target buyers/organizations. Translate complex sustainability, safety, regulatory, technical and built environment topics into clear messaging and content.
  • Bringing offerings to market: Marketing, product/service/solutions, sales alignment – Bringing consistency through best practices that ensure organization readiness for faster time to market enables the organization to get to market faster, measures how quickly the organization ramps up to targets and allows for monitoring above/below plan measurement that can be used as a baseline for continuous improvement.
  • Responsibilities: Establish a launch tier model across the Sustainability and BTC portfolios, drive consistency in the launch process and planning, and develop launch governance.
  • Personas and buyer/customer insights: Persona-based marketing commitment – Influence front-end ideation, development and investment, provide critical insights for better go-to-market success and allow the business to ask the right questions before investing in innovation. Customer-centricity is difficult to achieve without a deep understanding of buyers and buying committees. Buyer/customer insights drive value upstream and downstream.
  • Responsibilities: Identify and isolate buyers and buying committees, lead buyer persona development, and oversee buyer persona prioritization. Apply market, customer, competitive and performance insights to shape GTM strategy, campaign planning, content development and sales enablement.
  • Sales enablement: Customer journey and sales cycle alignment – Coordinated sales knowledge transfer programs to avoid inundating sellers and maximize sales adoption across the Sustainability and BTC portfolios.
  • Responsibilities: Know the direct and indirect routes to market, understand the sales organization structure, sales process and skills, sales funnel, etc., to establish a consistent knowledge transfer plan.

Requirements

  • Works well in a matrix organization and is able to manage pressure, competing priorities, and ambiguity.
  • Experience in creating marketing strategy using customer and market research, competitive analysis, standards or directives and regulatory frameworks and product/service requirements.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, communications, sustainability, built environment, construction, engineering, science, business or related field.
  • At least 6 years of marketing experience in promoting a wide range of sustainability, building technologies, construction, safety, regulatory, technical or B2B services, solutions or programs.
  • Practical experience in regional or international marketing.
  • At least 4 years of digital marketing experience, including management of campaigns and programs with larger budgets.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, with an eye for quality and attention to detail.
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating across functions, businesses, regions, senior leadership and external agencies.
  • Excellent facilitation, interviewing skills, project planning, and management.

Benefits

  • Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 USD and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday and personal days (totaling 12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
