Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns to support organisational objectives.
  • Lead brand strategy, ensuring consistency across all platforms, materials, and communications.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities specifically linked to the marine tourism sector and visitor attractions.
  • Manage the production of marketing materials (digital, print, events, campaigns).
  • Provide dedicated marketing leadership, strengthen commercial and destination growth activity, improve accountability for campaign performance.
  • Successfully plan and deliver multi-channel campaigns promoting and celebrating the Scottish Canals brand.
  • Devise and deliver multi-year marketing plans to bolster marine tourism (boat transit licence sales).
  • Lead on market research and the development of a marketing plan to support Scottish Canals’ ambitions to re-imagine the iconic Falkirk Wheel offering, delivering a new immersive visitor experience.

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver successful marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Creative with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics, and content management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
