Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Outreach - Research the right people within UK councils and build targeted prospect lists. - Call and email prospective customers to introduce Payble, invite them to webinars and events, and start conversations. - Follow up webinar attendees, event leads and other prospects to help turn interest into meetings. - Book qualified meetings for our Founder and wider commercial team. - Keep our CRM accurate and make sure leads and follow-ups don’t get lost. - Experiment with different outreach approaches and help us learn what works in the UK market. Events & Webinars - Help plan and promote Payble webinars, roundtables and other events. - Proactively invite relevant council teams and help grow attendance. - Attend industry conferences and events across the UK with our Founder and team. - Meet people, start conversations, introduce Payble and help identify the people we should be speaking with. - Make sure event conversations turn into organised and timely follow-up afterwards. - Help us get more value from every event we attend, rather than simply turning up and hoping people come to us. Marketing & Content - Help create simple, useful marketing content for our UK audience. - Capture photos and video at events, meetings and other activities, and turn them into simple social content. - Film short-form content with our Founder and team. - Edit simple video and social content for LinkedIn and other channels. - Help turn webinars, presentations, customer conversations and events into content we can reuse. - Support campaigns, email communications, landing pages and other marketing activity as needed. - Help us consistently capture what is happening in the market, rather than letting good content opportunities disappear. Your First 3 Months - Learn Payble, our customers and the UK local government market. - Understand our target councils, the people within them and how we currently generate opportunities. - Begin running outbound activity across phone, email and LinkedIn. - Take ownership of prospect and webinar outreach, including follow-up. - Attend your first industry events with the Founder and become comfortable representing Payble. - Begin capturing and producing simple content from events, webinars and founder activity. - Build your own rhythm for keeping prospects, meetings and follow-ups organised. What Success Looks Like – 1 Year In - You have become a key part of how Payble generates awareness and new conversations in the UK. - You regularly create qualified meetings with the right people inside target councils. - Our webinars and events have stronger attendance because of your outreach and follow-up. - You are confident walking into an industry event, meeting people and representing Payble without needing someone beside you. - You understand our market well enough to recognise a good prospect, a useful event and a strong marketing opportunity. - We are consistently capturing useful content from what the team is already doing. - You can independently manage outreach, follow-up and event activity without needing to be directed on every step. - You have developed real experience across marketing, business development, events and SaaS growth, and have a clearer view of where you want to take your career next.
  • How to apply / interview process: 1.     Apply - fill in the application form here: https://forms.gle/MtUyzNvhW4FJeNkn8 2.     Video – to help us get to know you, you’ll be asked to submit a video in the form. Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience, ideally in marketing, business development, events, agency work or similar
  • You’re still relatively early in your career, but you’ve had enough exposure to professional environments that you’re confident speaking with customers, managing your own work and representing a company externally.
  • You’re confident, outgoing and comfortable starting conversations with people you haven’t met before.
  • You communicate well on the phone, in writing and face-to-face. Phone is important, as a lot of our initial work includes calling prospects.
  • You enjoy meeting people and would be comfortable walking into an event and introducing yourself to someone new.
  • You’re commercially minded and interested in why people buy, how relationships develop and how businesses grow.
  • You’re comfortable creating content and using social media. You don’t need professional content or video editing experience, but you should be happy filming on a phone, putting together simple short-form videos and learning the tools we use. Experience creating content for your own social media, a side project, university society or previous role is enough.
  • You’re organised enough to make sure conversations actually turn into follow-ups and meetings.
  • You take ownership. If something needs doing, you don’t wait for someone else to notice it.
  • You’re comfortable working closely with a Founder in an environment where priorities can move quickly.
