Job Summary

Lead day-to-day media relations and crisis communications, deliver campaigns and social content, and support the national gas mains upgrade programme through cross‑team collaboration.

  • Manage media enquiries and act as liaison, including out-of-hours incidents
  • Create content and run campaigns across digital channels and social media
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure accuracy across communications

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Handling day-to-day press office and communications enquiries
  • Acting as media liaison during incident or crisis situations, potentially out of hours as required
  • Ensure positive PR by promoting company achievements
  • Provide communications content to support the national gas mains upgrade programme and emergency work
  • Campaign delivery and content creation to maintain the company’s social media presence
  • Manage and deliver communications campaigns

Requirements

  • Proven experience and understanding of media and public relations, preferably within utilities or similar industries
  • Experience with social media content creation
  • Great interpersonal skills and experience working with a broad mix of other internal and external stakeholders
  • Accurate written/proof - reading skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Great working knowledge of digital channels, including the full Office 365 suite
  • Experience or understanding of internal communications is advantageous
  • A full UK Driving License will be essential for this role due to travel
