Job Summary

Own and lead Nexus Black’s B2B event program end to end, from strategy and selection through on-site execution and post-event impact, while embedding AI-first workflows and cross-functional collaboration to drive pipeline and brand differentiation.

  • Own end-to-end event workstreams across planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Align with Marketing, Sales, and product narratives to create high-impact event concepts and assets.
  • Track KPIs and report impact to leadership, connecting events to pipeline and revenue.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a rolling calendar of the right events for Nexus Black — flagship industry conferences, regional field days, executive roundtables, and co-marketing events with IFS — prioritized against pipeline gaps, regional targets, and industry focus areas (energy, utilities, aerospace, manufacturing).
  • Evaluate event opportunities against clear go/no-go criteria: audience fit, expected pipeline value, cost, and competing priorities — and be willing to say no to events that don't earn their place.
  • Translate NxB's product launches, customer proof points, and market narrative into event concepts across Resolve (field service and maintenance), Comply (compliance), and Flow (manufacturing).
  • Own end-to-end event management: concepting, budgeting, logistics, staffing, and on-site execution for both NxB-led and co-branded IFS events.
  • Maintain event trackers giving leadership visibility into timelines, dependencies, budgets, and next steps across every live event.
  • Manage relationships with venues, event organizers, vendors, and sponsorship contacts to ensure seamless delivery, on time and on budget.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for logistics, registration, speaker coordination, and attendee experience.
  • Work closely with agencies and designers to create brand experiences (conference booths, roadshows, virtual events, and more) that stand out and convert AI-First Marketing Infrastructure
  • Partner with the Head of Marketing to bring AI-first ways of working into event marketing — using AI tools as the default, not an add-on.
  • Become proficient in Claude Cowork for multi-step event workflows: briefing documents, run-of-show planning, post-event synthesis, and recurring reporting — compressing work that used to take days into a single working session.

Requirements

  • Proven success running B2B events, ideally within an enterprise software or technology organization.
  • Excellent project management skills — organized, structured, and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities at once.
  • Detail-oriented and logical, able to manage complex event workflows with precision under pressure.
  • Comfortable navigating a matrix organization to secure the direction and support required from central and regional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communicator with a business-level command of English (plus the appropriate local language for the market this role is based in).
  • Skilled relationship builder with polish, tact, and a sense of humor; a team player who can influence internal and external stakeholders alike.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resourceful in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI tools and how they can reshape marketing operations — you don't need to be technical, but you should want to be an early adopter.
