Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write compelling blogs, website content, newsletters, fundraising appeals and reports.
  • Turn programme updates, interviews and field reports into powerful humanitarian stories.
  • Tell stories in a dignified, ethical and human-centred way.
  • Develop campaign messaging, headlines and calls to action that inspire people to get involved.
  • Create scripts, captions and written content for video and social media.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure it is clear, accurate and engaging.
  • Work closely with our Digital Creator and teams across Khalsa Aid to develop integrated campaigns.
  • Support fast-moving communications during humanitarian emergencies and disaster responses.
  • Use content performance and audience insights to continually improve what we do.

Requirements

  • We’re looking for someone who is a great writer, curious, creative and passionate about making a difference.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience creating both long- and short-form content.
  • A strong instinct for finding and telling compelling stories.
  • Experience creating content for digital channels, including websites, social media and email.
  • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • The ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging content.
  • Degree in Marketing & Communications or equivalent professional experience in content writing.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach.

Preferred

  • experience within the charity, humanitarian or international development sector, and/or speak Punjabi or Hindi
