Job Summary

Own the social content engine for WSL Football, driving creative storytelling across sport and culture while shaping partnerships, formats, and fantasy-game content to captivate fans and elevate key fixtures.

  • Creative Leadership: Shape how we tell stories across channels, experiment with new formats, and push content to spotlight players, clubs, and narratives.
  • Agency & Stakeholder orchestration: Manage the social agency relationship, define scope and strategy, and ensure on-time, KPI-driven delivery while inspiring the team.
  • Channel guardianship and performance: Act as internal guardian for channels, lead performance analytics (including Fantasy content), and coordinate cross-functional content plans with partners.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Be the creative engine of our content team, operating at the intersection of sport, entertainment and culture, taking creative risks and coming up with new formats and ideas that push WSL Football, our clubs, players and their stories into the spotlight.
  • Lead the relationship with WSL Football's social media agency, acting as the main day-to-day point of contact, shaping scope and strategy, managing weekly contacts, and driving delivery against KPIs.
  • Be the key point of contact internally for other social media requests across functions and act as the guardian for our channels, coordinating with the Commercial Content Producer to integrate partner content.
  • Lead the overall performance analysis on our social channels, including the performance of Fantasy content.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a social media-led role, with agency experience either within one or alongside one.
  • Strong expertise across the major social platforms, with a clear understanding of content formats, platform nuance and best practice.
  • A great understanding of fantasy sports, gaming or data-driven fan products.
  • Demonstrable experience leading day-to-day relationships with external partners or agencies, including briefing, feedback and performance management.
  • A creative thinker who utilises platform features to create social-led bespoke content
  • Ability to shape and deliver the content strategy, translating objectives into clear plans and outputs.
  • Experience acting as a channel guardian, managing multiple internal stakeholder requests while protecting brand tone and quality.
  • Experience in line management, including setting objectives, prioritising workload and coaching/development support.
  • Strong analytical skills, with reporting experience to interpret insights and apply learnings to future content.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage overlapping projects, campaigns and seasonal priorities.
  • Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally with comms, marketing, broadcast & commercial.
Preferred
  • Experience working in sport, entertainment or live events.
  • Experience overseeing or working closely with photography and video production.
  • Experience supporting pre-season access, media days or live content capture environments.
  • Interest in women's football and an understanding of digital fan behaviour within sport.
