Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Conducting in-depth keyword research to identify all angles of a topic. This involves using tools such as Google Search Console, Analytics, AHrefs, SEMrush and other keyword research tools
  • Drafting content briefs based on your keyword research which our content writers can use to write an article
  • Briefs should be helpful, thorough, well-structured and designed to rank well in search engines
  • Conducting in-depth competitor analysis is also part of the role, in particular, studying their on-page performance to determine what works and what doesn’t.
  • Analysing live pages and conducting optimisation tasks
  • Providing training on SEO to colleagues
  • Supporting the Head of SEO in any tasks that arise

Requirements

  • Knowledge of SEO, researching and using keywords, backlinking and experience in using SEO tools is essential.
  • Experience in using WordPress is also essential.
  • Conducting research also forms a big part of this role. Our articles cover technical subjects so experience in research and scrutinising data sources is therefore essential.
  • Attention to detail is a big part of this role. You will be expected to update sometimes complex and technical articles which require a sharp editorial eye.
  • Organisation is also vital. You will be responsible for your workload and will be assigned targets and deadlines to meet.
  • A creative mind. We’re keen to work with people who like to think outside the box and find creative solutions to problems and challenges that arise.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

  • A strong background in writing, or a passion for writing, is desirable.

  • The starting salary is up to £30,000, depending on experience.
