Job Summary

Own audience-led communications and multi-channel content delivery for council campaigns, shaping reputation, resident engagement, and impact across children and family services.

  • Audience-led Campaigns: Plan and execute priority campaigns across press, digital, social, internal comms, and creative content.
  • Content & Channels: Create engaging content for social, websites, video, and marketing materials, aligning day-to-day activity with strategic projects.
  • Reputation & Stakeholders: Protect the council’s reputation through two-way communications with residents, partners, and stakeholders.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • To provide professional communication and marketing support to senior managers and officers that contributes towards the delivery of the Council’s corporate plan priorities.
  • Working across a directorate or service, own and deliver all aspects of audience-led communication activity and priority campaigns including press, marketing, digital, internal communication, photography and copywriting.
  • To protect and enhance the Council’s reputation through effective two-way communication with residents, business, partners and stakeholders.
  • This role will help promote important services, campaigns and initiatives that make a real difference to children, young people and families across the borough.
  • You will help create engaging content across a range of channels including social media, digital platforms, campaigns, video and marketing materials, supporting both day-to-day communications and larger strategic projects.

Requirements

  • Have experience creating engaging communications and marketing content
  • Be confident writing for different audiences and channels
  • Have strong digital and social media skills
  • Be highly organised and able to manage multiple projects
  • Be motivated to learn and continuously improve

Preferred

  • Experience with children’s services communications and engagement (preferred)
  • Creative and proactive approach with ability to develop fresh ideas
