Job Description

Account Manager

Bristol | Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 from home) | Full time

About Bigg

Bigg is one of Bristol's leading digital marketing agencies, delivering high-performing

campaigns across SEO, Paid Media, Content, and Social.

We are a team of around 15 marketers who care about doing great work, building trust

with clients, and helping each other grow. Our culture is collaborative, ambitious, and

down-to-earth.

The Role

We are looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of a defined portfolio of client

accounts and the revenue attached to them. You will work alongside our Senior Account

Manager, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

This is a commercially accountable role, not an inbox-management role. You will own

your clients end to end: keeping relationships strong, keeping revenue secure, spotting

growth opportunities early, and making sure work moves cleanly between the client and

our delivery teams.

The majority of our client base is SEO-led, often alongside Paid Media, Content, and Web.

You will need real experience managing SEO accounts to do this job well.

To be clear about what this role is and is not:

● It is a commercial account ownership role. Retention, renewals, growth, delivery

coordination, and clear reporting on the value we create.

● It is not a delivery role. Our SEO, Paid Media, and Content specialists own the

technical execution. Your job is to make their work land.

What You Will Own

Client relationships and retention

● Act as the primary point of contact for a defined portfolio of direct and partner

clients.

● Build trusted, senior-level relationships so Bigg is seen as a partner rather than a

supplier.

● Lead regular performance reviews and quarterly business reviews, focused on

commercial outcomes rather than activity.

● Spot retention risk early, flag it, and act on it before it reaches renewal.

Revenue ownership and growth

● Take accountability for the retained revenue across your accounts, including

renewals and contract value.

● Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across SEO, Paid Media, Content, and

Web, and build the case for them.

● Work with the Managing Director and delivery leads to scope and pitch proposals

that genuinely fit the client.

● Generate referrals and case study opportunities from strong-performing accounts.

Delivery coordination

● Translate client goals into clear, accurate briefs the delivery team can act on

without chasing detail.

● Own timelines, approvals, and blockers so campaigns ship on schedule.

● Keep account status fully visible in Monday.com so nothing sits in a private inbox.

● Chase client-side dependencies such as sign-off, access, and assets, rather than

leaving the delivery team waiting.

Protecting delivery time

● Qualify and filter incoming client requests, so only genuine, in-scope work reaches

the delivery team.

● Hold scope firmly and identify scope creep early, converting additional work into

paid work where appropriate.

● Absorb the day-to-day client communication so specialists can stay focused on

delivery.

● Say no clearly and constructively when a request does not serve the client or the

account.

Reporting and commercial insight

● Ensure reporting goes out on time and tells a clear story about performance and

value.

● Track budgets and spend accurately against agreed scope.

● Give the Managing Director early, honest visibility on account health, risk, and

opportunity.

What We Are Looking For

These are the non-negotiables. If you cannot do the following, this is not the right role:

● 2 to 3+ years in account management, agency-side, across digital channels.

● Hands-on experience managing SEO accounts. This is essential. You do not need

to be an SEO specialist, but you must have owned SEO clients: you understand the

deliverables, you know why results take months rather than weeks, and you can

hold a confident conversation when rankings or traffic dip.

● Broader digital literacy across Paid Media, Content, and Web. Enough to brief

accurately, join the channels up for the client, and challenge a request sensibly.

You do not need to deliver the work yourself.

● Proven client retention. Evidence of keeping accounts, rescuing at-risk

relationships, and growing existing clients.

● Commercial confidence. Comfortable discussing budgets, scope, renewals, and

pricing with clients without deferring every conversation upwards.

● Strong organisation across multiple accounts, with experience using a project

management tool such as Monday.com, Asana, or ClickUp.

● Comfortable reading and interpreting performance data in GA4 and Looker

Studio, and turning it into a clear commercial narrative.

● Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex

work for non-technical stakeholders.

● The confidence to protect the delivery team, push back on unreasonable requests,

and hold clients to agreed process.

● Genuine ownership. You chase the answer, you close the loop, and you do not wait

to be asked twice.

Strongly Desirable

You will stand out if you also bring:

● Experience managing partner or white-label accounts alongside direct clients.

● A track record of leading QBRs and strategic client sessions.

● Experience writing or contributing to upsell proposals and scopes of work.

● Exposure to contract renewals and commercial negotiation.

● An interest in how AI search and AI visibility are changing what clients expect from

organic performance.

● Experience mentoring or supporting account executives.

Why Join Bigg

● £30,000 to £35,000 salary, depending on experience.

● Profit-related bonus scheme.

● Clear route to Senior Account Manager as the client base grows.

● Hybrid working: 3 days in our Bristol office, 2 from home.

● Early finish on Fridays.

● Office dogs and a relaxed, supportive culture.

● Socials and team events.

● Free fruit and snacks.

● Pension scheme.

If you enjoy owning client relationships, protecting revenue, and making great work land

properly, we would love to hear from you.
