Own the creative content engine across social platforms, turning emerging trends into rapid, engaging formats while measuring impact and learning what works.

Content creation and rapid production across video, memes, and posts to stay timely and relevant.
Trend scouting and format experimentation by listening to TikTok, X, IG, and YouTube conversations.
Cross-functional collaboration to explain results, optimize output, and drive community engagement.

Make stuff - video, graphics, memes, written posts across all formats; quick reactive TikToks, mini-mockumentaries, energy explainers
Be the meme machine; scan internet for moments Octopus can own and turn around quickly
Pitch relentlessly with new ideas weekly; present new formats and angles
Listen and lurk on TikTok, X, Instagram, YouTube; track trends and conversations about Octopus
Support our community; work with Community Management and help with tricky customer situations
Keep the wheels turning; prioritise weekly output to stay timely and relevant
Measure what matters; use data to test, learn, and explain what worked

Requirements

At least 2 years' experience creating content for a brand's social channels (agency or in-house)
Video production and editing skills (Adobe Suite is a plus)
Experience with social listening tools (Brandwatch)
Graphic design chops - you can make a meme, a Story, a thumbnail, whatever's needed
A proactive, execution-first mindset: you pitch ideas and you follow through
You're chronically online: you personally use social media a lot and understand internet culture
A genuine understanding of people - how they think, what they share, and why
T-shaped: adaptable and happy to have a crack at everything
A genuine passion for making a big green dent in the universe
