Responsibilities

Lead strategic planning and delivery of sustainability communications and engagement, driving behaviour change and cross-campus partnerships for credible, visible impact.
Line-manage the Sustainability Communications & Engagement Coordinator and deputize for the Head of Sustainability, exercising autonomy across a complex institution.
Oversee multi-channel campaigns and governance reporting to senior stakeholders, ensuring consistency of brand and audience segmentation.

Requirements

Substantial experience in strategic communications or engagement, leading campaigns at senior levels, preferably in sustainability, higher education, or public sector.
Experience line-managing staff and developing people while maintaining high output standards.
Strong stakeholder management with confidence engaging senior audiences and building institutional partnerships.
Experience overseeing multi-channel communications (web, social, newsletters, events) with brand consistency and audience segmentation.
Ability to develop and manage budgets, track KPIs and produce evidence-based reports for senior governance bodies.
Strategic mindset with practical delivery capability to set direction and land programmes effectively.
Genuine commitment to sustainability and understanding of behaviour change in a university or similarly complex environment.
