Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Pitch and produce digital content across all sections of the website, writing everything from topical news to reporting on the latest trends and SEO-driven content.
  • Contribute to the brand’s social-first franchises by pitching ideas, filming, appearing in and editing original on-camera content, and supporting the Social Media Manager with scheduling and publishing content across our social channels.
  • Willing to attend events where necessary to capture and produce content for our platforms.
  • Use Google Analytics to analyse performance and make informed decisions about emerging trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Support Cosmopolitan’s membership offering, Club Cosmo, by helping drive social promotion and referrals, and assisting with the promotion and production of events and related content.

Requirements

  • A thorough knowledge of and genuine passion for the Cosmopolitan brand, with a strong understanding of its audience and tone of voice is essential.
  • Brimming with ideas and aware of the topics and trends our audience is talking about is essential.
  • Keen and confident to be front of camera for social-first videos is essential.
  • The ability to write quickly, while maintaining accuracy and legal awareness, as well as the witty, conversational tone our readers love is essential.

Preferred

  • Experience filming and editing video content for social media, and using Photoshop is desirable.
  • A basic understanding of media law, including image rights and defamation is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines is desirable.
