Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish engaging, accurate and timely content across Athletics NI and Mary Peters Track digital channels, including websites, email and appropriate social media platforms.
  • Promote Athletics NI championships, events, programmes, courses, membership opportunities, athlete achievements and organisational activity through coordinated marketing campaigns.
  • Produce news stories, event previews and reviews, athlete and club features, announcements and other content which increases the profile of athletics in Northern Ireland.
  • Maintain and update website content, ensuring information is current, accessible and presented consistently.
  • Prepare membership newsletters, event communications and other targeted email campaigns, maintaining appropriate databases and complying with GDPR requirements.
  • Support the production of photography, video and other digital content and help develop Athletics NI’s use of short-form and emerging digital media.
  • Ensure consistent application of Athletics NI and Mary Peters Track branding across digital and printed communications.
  • Support clubs, where appropriate, with practical marketing and communications guidance and materials.
  • Monitor digital channels and respond to routine enquiries appropriately, escalating sensitive or specialist matters where required.
  • Support the planning, promotion and delivery of Athletics NI championships, competitions and other events across Track & Field, Cross Country, Road Running and other disciplines.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree qualification at in marketing, communications, events, hospitality, digital media, business or a related discipline, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience of a minimum of 3 years.
  • Practical experience in a marketing, communications, digital, events or comparable customer-facing role.
  • Experience of creating and publishing content for organisational social media and/or websites.
  • Experience of supporting the promotion or delivery of events, campaigns, programmes or public-facing activity.
  • Experience of producing clear written communications for different audiences.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and managing a varied workload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident and effective use of social media for organisational or professional purposes.
  • Good digital skills and the ability to learn and use website, database, event and marketing systems.
  • Ability to create engaging content and adapt tone and format for different audiences and channels.

Preferred

  • Experience within sport, membership, events, leisure, charity or another stakeholder-led organisation.
  • Experience of event administration, permits, registrations, memberships or comparable processes.
  • Experience of supporting sponsorship, commercial partnerships or income-generating activity.
  • Experience of email marketing platforms, website content-management systems, analytics or customer databases.
  • Experience of photography, video creation or editing digital content.
  • Knowledge of athletics and the structure of the sport in Northern Ireland.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and good practice in digital communications and data management.
  • Knowledge of event marketing, sponsorship activation or membership marketing.
