Location: Remote (UK, Europe, anywhere)
Hours: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week
Compensation: €2700 - €4,000 per month.

Main Responsibility:
Leading our editing department to ensure every concept we ship meets the Adfluent quality bar, building the systems and team that let us deliver high-performing video and static creative at scale across all clients.
Our Core Values:
1. Own The Outcome Take full responsibility for every result - the wins, the losses, and everything in between.
2. Truth Before Comfort Say what needs to be said, even when it's difficult. Honesty is how we get better.
3. Invested In The Result Feel genuine pride when clients win and real accountability when they don't.
4. Never Stop Learning Stay curious, innovate constantly, and never settle - the best teams never stop improving.
Background
Adfluent B.V. is a start-up company that was founded in June 2023. We work with direct-to-consumer brands only and over the past 12 months we've grown to a lean team of twenty. We're looking to add to our team of dedicated A-players as we expand our existing portfolio with new launches through 2026 and beyond.
Reporting directly to our CEO, the Lead Editor owns the editing department end-to-end. You manage all of our editors, own the quality of every concept we produce, and own our static ad design output. The role is primarily managerial, with hands-on editing on the most difficult concepts where the highest skill level is needed. You are accountable for editing quality across the entire agency.
We're looking for someone who has led editing teams before and knows how to hold a quality standard across a whole department in an agency environment, batch after batch, not just deliver one strong edit themselves. Someone who builds systems instead of relying on constant firefighting, who makes decisive calls on talent, and who documents the way we work so the department is never dependent on any single person.
Main Accountabilities
- Lead the editing department end-to-end: manage all editors, plan capacity, and route every concept based on editor bandwidth and quality fit so work gets picked up as it comes in.
- Manage the editing department day to day and own the editing ticketing system. Keep concepts moving through the pipeline, catch blockers early, and make sure nothing sits stuck so every ticket progresses toward delivery.
- Own editing quality across the agency. QA editor output during internal feedback rounds, step in on concepts that are far off the bar, and keep feedback loops below three rounds. When a concept ships below standard, that is on you regardless of who cut it.
- Own the static ad design output and maintain the quality bar across all static deliverables.
- Build and maintain the systems that make the department scalable: a documented editor onboarding process, SOPs stored in one accessible place, and manage a strengths-based "cheat sheet" of every editor so assignment decisions are repeatable and visible.
- Have the authority to design and implement editing workflows and SOPs yourself. This is a full-ownership role: you don't wait for sign-off to improve how the department runs, you make the call and put it in place.
- Run editor hiring and off boarding decisively. Make fast probation calls, act on red flags early rather than carrying underperformers, and recommend hires and exits to the CEO with a clear rationale.
- Deliver consistent, continuous training for the team, aiming for bi-weekly sessions tailored to current skill gaps, with a log of topics, attendance, and feedback.
- Drive AI adoption in the editing workflow. Protect dedicated time to test new tools, models, and formats, translate what works into how the team edits, and flag tools with clear business benefit to the leadership team.
- Coordinate cross-functionally: align with Creative Strategists on briefs and review cycles, with the Lead Project Manager and PMs on delivery timelines, and push back directly on upstream delays that block editing from starting on time.
Success in 6 Months
- The editing department consistently delivers concepts at the Adfluent quality bar across every client, with feedback loops kept below three rounds and no concepts shipping below standard.
- A fully documented onboarding process and SOP library exist in one place, so onboarding a new editor no longer depends on you being in the room, and the CEO has clear visibility into how the editing process runs.
- A strengths-based editor cheat sheet is live and used to assign concepts, and the team can deliver on virtually any type of edit the agency takes on.
- Editor output is consistent and predictable: editors reliably deliver five net-new edits per week, week over week, on top of iterations and revised concepts, so throughput no longer swings from batch to batch.
- Underperformers have been moved on quickly and the team is built from editors who consistently hit the bar. Bad hires get caught in probation, not months later.
- AI tools and new formats are actively tested and rolled into the workflow, measurably improving speed, quality, or creativity rather than running last year's playbook.
- Recurring quality issues that used to come back and bite us are prevented at the source, because you own the outcome and get ahead of problems before they reach the client.
Attitude: You,
- Take complete ownership of your successes and failures, and prevent the same issue from happening twice;
- Are decisive with people. You hold a hard quality bar and make the tough calls early. You're kind, not nice, and you don't shy away from holding editors accountable;
- Communicate with truth before comfort. You tell a strategist their brief is unclear, tell an editor their cut isn't at the bar with specifics, and flag structural underperformance to the CEO instead of carrying it;
- Build systems and document as you go, so the department is never over-reliant on any single person, including you;
- Are genuinely invested in whether the work performs in the ad account, not just whether it ships;
- Stay curious and keep learning. New tools, new cuts, new ways of hooking attention in the first three seconds;
- Can self-manage, prioritise, and stay ahead of blockers in a fast-paced agency environment with multiple clients at once;
- Are all-in on one focus. We're not looking for a one foot in, one foot out mentality.
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience leading and developing an editing team, ideally in a performance creative, DTC, or agency environment.
- Expert-level video editing ability, with a sharp eye for what makes a high-performing ad and the judgement to know when a cut is and isn't at the bar.
- A track record of building repeatable systems: onboarding processes, SOPs, and documentation that make a team scalable rather than people-dependent.
- Strong command of AI editing tools and a genuine interest in testing new tools, models, and formats to improve speed, quality, and creativity.
- Comfortable owning quality across statics as well as video, even without being a designer yourself.
- Excellent, direct communication skills. You give clear, specific feedback and have hard conversations without finger-pointing.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan capacity and manage multiple clients and concepts simultaneously.
- Understanding of DTC creative best practices across UGC, motion graphic, and high-production content for Meta and TikTok.
The Benefits of Working at Adfluent B.V.
- Although we're still small, we have the ambition to stay lean and grow vertical with our clients, not horizontal. This means we work with a small portfolio of clients to ensure we get them the best results. We're early in our journey with a huge amount of opportunity to learn and progress.
- Start-up sensibilities. You have the rare opportunity to work with a small but rapidly expanding group and have a huge impact on how we do things.
- Remote working. We're a modern business so working from home or abroad is no issue at all. But you're more than welcome at our office in Amsterdam too.
We are an e-commerce growth agency that synergises performance creative & paid media to slash CPA’s for DTC brands.
