Job Summary

Own end-to-end email marketing within a CRM framework and drive lifecycle flows, testing, and deliverability to lift engagement and revenue.

  • Email Campaigns & Journeys: plan, build, and optimize newsletters, promos, automated flows, and transactional emails across segments and audiences.
  • CRM & Data: manage segmentation, data integrity, and compliance within Dotdigital/Klaviyo; collaborate on cross-channel CRM including SMS/push
  • Measurement & Optimization: test subject lines, content, send times, and audience segments; report on open/click/conversion/revenue with actionable insights

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build, and deploy email marketing campaigns — including newsletters, promotional sends, automated flows, and transactional emails
  • Manage and optimise the CRM platform (Dotdigital or Klaviyo preferred), ensuring data integrity and best-practice segmentation
  • Develop and maintain automated customer journeys, including welcome series, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, and re-engagement flows
  • Own the email marketing calendar, coordinating with stakeholders to align sends with trading and campaign priorities
  • Conduct A/B and multivariate tests on subject lines, content, send times, and audience segments to continuously improve performance
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on key email metrics (open rate, click rate, conversion rate, revenue, unsubscribe rate) with actionable insights
  • Manage list hygiene, audience segmentation, and data suppression to maintain deliverability and compliance
  • Ensure all email activity is compliant with GDPR and CAN-SPAM regulations
  • Collaborate with designers and copywriters to brief and produce on-brand, compelling email creative
  • Support the wider CRM strategy, including SMS, push notifications, and loyalty programme communications where relevant

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an email marketing or CRM or digital marketing role
  • Strong understanding of segmentation, personalisation, and lifecycle marketing
  • Comfortable working with data — able to build segments, interpret reports, and translate results into clear recommendations
  • Basic image editing / design skills in Canva or an alternative tool
  • Solid understanding of GDPR requirements in relation to email marketing
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong proofing skills
  • Organised self-starter with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Good communications skills with both internal and external stakeholders

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Dotdigital, Klaviyo and Hubspot (or a comparable ESP/CRM platform such as Mailchimp or Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Experience with Dotdigital's EasyEditor or Klaviyo's Flow builder
  • Familiarity with integrating CRM platforms with ecommerce systems (e.g. Shopify, Woocommerce)
  • Experience using analytics and reporting platforms such as Google Analytics 4 and Looker Studio
  • A/B testing methodology and statistical significance awareness
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS for basic email template editing is advantageous
