Job Summary

Own the full content lifecycle for a UK trade audience with a focus on editorial excellence and data-led distribution across digital, print, and social channels.

  • Content strategy and editorial oversight for features, interviews and retailer profiles across platforms.
  • SEO and audience growth planning using research and analytics to boost traffic, engagement and newsletters.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research, write and edit high-quality editorial content for both digital and print platforms
  • Produce magazine content including features, interviews, retailer profiles and sector analysis
  • Interview retailers, producers, wholesalers and industry experts to create engaging and authoritative content
  • Monitor emerging food, drink and retail trends and develop timely, relevant editorial coverage
  • Attend industry events, launches and trade shows to source content and strengthen industry relationships
  • Identify and develop content opportunities using SEO research and audience insights
  • Use tools including Google Analytics and SEMrush to monitor content performance and identify growth opportunities
  • Develop data-led content strategies focused on increasing website traffic, engagement and audience retention
  • Ensure all digital content is optimised for discoverability, search performance and user engagement
  • Produce and manage daily newsletters with a focus on improving open rates and click-through performance

Requirements

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong editorial judgement and storytelling ability
  • Experience creating content for both digital and print audiences
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and experience using SEO tools such as SEMrush
  • Experience using Google Analytics to monitor content performance and identify opportunities
  • Experience creating and managing email newsletters
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and content best practice
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS)
  • Excellent interviewing, research and networking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while working independently

Preferred

  • Experience creating video or multimedia content
  • Experience designing content using Canva or similar design tools
  • Experience using project management platforms such as Jira
  • Understanding of the food, drink, retail or hospitality sectors
  • Experience working within B2B publishing or trade media
